Alice is a seasoned Registered Nurse with twenty years of nursing experience based in Chatham Ontario. With a love for nursing and people, she continues to focus on educating, supporting, health coaching and collaborating with clients newly diagnosed health issues, so they can take control of their health and live their best life. Alice always had a drive and passion for caring for others. She finds it rewarding to see others strive, achieve their optimal health and feel good about themselves. As a Healthcare provider herself, she understands the daily stresses of nursing and knows how overwhelming it can feel at times. Her ultimate drive and mission are to help burnt-out and overburdened nurses - the heart of health care - strive personally and professionally by prioritizing themselves first while making a difference in this world. Helping them break free and regain their energy so they can do the work they love without sacrificing their health, families, and relationships.
My Story
My name is Alice Hanson. I am a Registered Nurse and Founder of Nurses On A Mission based in Chatham Ontario. I was born and raised in Grenada. Migrated to Canada twenty-two years ago in pursuit of a better life, my dream, my calling and that is, being a nurse.
Coming from a humbling background, and sometimes not having the basics of life, I knew I had a desire for more. I did not know how, but I was going to have more and be in a position to give back.
My inspiration was my parents. They both were givers and caregivers. My mother gave when she did not have for herself. She was the pillar of the community. She was my pillar.
After twenty years of nursing, working long hours and time spent away from my family missing out on events in my children’s lives, feeling stressed, feeling burned out, and feeling at my wits end, I realized the effect on my body. I was mentally, physically and emotionally drained. I was tired. Much like my mother, I was giving to everyone else around me, but had little time for myself or my family. Can you relate?
Having experienced two horrible accidents where I almost lost my life, a light bulb went off. I knew what was important to me but, following the accidents I truly understood what was dear to me - my children, my family. Then losing my mother - my pillar - in 2019, I hit my turning point in my life. A change happened.
Presently, I no longer work long hours or do shift work. I get to do what I love to do, and I am less stressed. I get to help, inspire and empower others in my community - I get to give back. Most of all, I am present for my family, my children (my pride).
Now, I get to help nurses like yourself experience a more gratifying life. To find some kind of balance and regain the energy you once had, so you can feel good and do the work you love without sacrificing your health, families and relationships. I am here to tell and remind you that you deserve happiness, it is your right. Give yourself permission to let go and pursue that which is important to you.
